Silky Zubat Curved Handsaw
The Zubat is a curved full-tang handsaw that is crafted in Japan. It is suitable for all pruning and trimming tasks, including cutting large branches.
All curved saws work best when cutting above your shoulders or below your waist. The shape of the blade naturally cuts into the branch as you pull the saw towards you.
This Silky Zubat Curved Handsaw saw cuts only on the pull stroke. Use a minimal amount of pressure as you pull the blade toward yourself and then glide the saw forward. On the forward stroke, the teeth will clear of timber or material and then on the pull stroke the saw will do the cutting again.
The tips of the Zubat teeth have been impulse hardened to give an extremely long life to the sharpness of the saw. The blades are hollow-ground to reduce friction and increase ease of cutting action and speed. The handle is made from Silky’s special material, giving a superior grip and a reduction in vibrations. The teeth are non-set and have a Mirai-Me design which creates a very smooth surface once the timber is cut. The blades are made from a special material which is a high carbon steel and have been given a special coating in order to reduce rust and protect the blade.
